What Are Amenities?
This article explains what the Amenities feature is, how it works in Carson, and what you need to know before coordinating with the Carson team to set it up.
Amenities are shared building spaces that require controlled access separate from unit doors. Examples include gyms, garages, pools, lounges, and other common areas.
The Amenities feature allows building teams to:
- Control which Residents can unlock and use specific Amenity spaces
- Restrict access to paid or membership-based Amenities
- Manage access for both Residents and Staff
- Configure access based on building rules or property policies
Please review this guide in full before submitting a request to Carson to enable Amenities. Doing so ensures proper understanding, confirms eligibility, and helps avoid setup delays.
Supported Systems
Amenities tooling is available for buildings where Amenity doors are configured within Carson-supported access control environments.
Requirements include:
- Amenity doors must be created and assigned within the building configuration
- Doors must support Carson-issued digital keys
- Building must be fully onboarded to Carson access workflows
Eligibility to Use Amenities Tooling
A building is eligible when all of the following are true:
- Amenity doors have been installed and configured
- Resident and Staff access management is active
- Staff and administrators have appropriate role access permissions
- Resident profiles exist and are synced
Additional Notes:
- Staff automatically receive Amenity access once doors are configured
- Staff are required to manually assign Residents to Amenities
- Bulk assignment is available only via Web Admin
- Carson Mobile App supports individual Resident only
How to Request Amenity Carson Setup
If Amenities is not yet enabled for a building:
- Confirm Amenity doors exist within your access control system and are operational; please reach out to the Carson Support Team if these doors were recently installed by your low-voltage dealer
- Gather the following information:
- Building name
- Door names or IDs
- Access system in use

Operational Notes
- Staff access sync may be required after new Amenity doors are added
- Resident access changes apply immediately
- Bulk management is performed in Web Admin only
