If your building has digital keys enabled for visitors, you still have the option of adding visitors and vendors to an authorized list without them needing to download or use the app. The Remote Doorman team will be able to refer to a list of visitors added by Staff or Residents to confirm their info and let someone into the building.
Note: You can adjust the Remote Doorman settings for your building to require the team to always check for photo ID or for a snapshot of the visitor to be saved to Carson upon entry to the building. Just reach out to support@carson.live for assistance.
Step 1
Log into your account at admin.carson.live. Click on the Visitor Management button on the left-hand side of the screen.
Step 2
Click Add New in the upper right hand corner of the page, then click Visitor or Vendor on the pop-up.
Step 3
Fill in the form once redirected. First Name and Last Name are required fields but all other fields are not. Unlike with a digital key, the E-mail and Phone Number fields are optional, and can be left blank if you prefer not to keep your visitor’s information in the Carson system.
If adding a vendor, you can break up the company name over the first and last name fields.
Click Submit when ready, leaving the Send Digital Key box unchecked.
Step 4
You will be redirected back to the Visitor Management tab, with your new visitor or vendor at the top of the list.
If you need to confirm whether a visitor has been sent a digital key or not, filter the Columns to see who has Digital Key left unchecked.
Filter until you can see the Digital Key column. A red hyphen (―) indicates that the visitor was not sent a digital key and is only on the authorized list for entry via the Remote Doorman. A green checkmark (✓) indicates that the user received a digital key in addition to being added to the authorized list.
