Sending a Digital Key to an Existing Visitor or Vendor

These instructions are for sending a digital key to an existing visitor or vendor in Carson. If you need to create a new visitor please check out our instructions for adding a new visitor.

Step 1

Select Visitor Management from the left menu bar

Find the visitor you want to send a key to. You can search for their name in the search bar and/or filter by building. Once you find the visitor scroll over to the right and select Actions then Send Invite.

Step 3

Under period select the type of key, 15 minute or unlimited. Neither key will work outside of the selected visitors allowed hours or past their expiration date if one is set. 

15-minute key: A key sent via text message and the visitor texts back "Open" when they are ready to enter. The key will no longer work after 15 minutes, but can always be resent.

Unlimited: An invite to download carson is sent via text and/or email. Once the visitor sets up their account they have the ability to open the door or message you but no other features. Their door open button will only work when they are at the building so they must have their location services on. This key will last until the visitors expiration date or until you decide to expire them.

Step 4

Select the doors you'd like your visitor to have access to. You must select at least one and can select multiple doors. Once you have set your period and doors press Send and their key will be sent.
